To write the words of wisdom
or a message laced in hope
one must know where it is from.
Inspiration, just take note.
To write the masterpiece of a lifetime
or a grand work of written art
one must find the first line
an explosion for a start.
A great exposition is a gem
look for fresh ideas
like that 'of mice and men'
avoid verbal diarea.
Language is the key
to fluid dialogue
like 'I live a life of misery
as a prince within a frog'
When you have nothing left to say
you can paint a picture in the mind
For example, describe little birds at play
or a warm old man, gentle and kind.
There are a million things to write about.
You just need to find the right one
like why do kids scream and shout
when they are having fun.
I hope this poem has provided the impetus
for you to lift up pencil or pen
Creativity is inside of all of us
You just need harvest it time and time again.
