Do you remember the time when life was simple?
The summers spanned like immense oceans.
We were filled with readable emotions.
We used to play make-believe with stuffed animal friends
Ol’ Jack Frost brought fluffy, white snowmen.
I was never alone back then.
Remember Halloween hayrides and the electric excitement of Trick or Treating?
Autumn foliage brought forth to earth leaves of fire
Inviting mounds gave way to a child’s desire
Remember being frustrated as a kid and out slips, “I wish I were an adult?”
What about now? I bet some of us wish we were kids once more
Gaze through the window at a future present, and open up closed doors.
Reminisce about the past over a half-full glass of memory ale.
Feel a warm glow in your heart over dreams of childhood.
I look back at my yester-years and realize those times were good.
