The Evolution of the Universe

Ages come then crumble

Time groans then stands still

Night into day
Day into night
As horizons appear and then
die into the night,
the motion of life ceases.
And in the midnight hour
one question sublimates from the noise:
Am I really alive?
A spectator with neither eyes nor ears nor mouth
only limbs feeling
all the pain and pleasure
that exists in this expansive universe
Complementary sensations
of light and dark
tug and pull on a mind
of infinite depth
so very black and cold
like the gathering of thunderclouds
collecting
compiling together for the release
When heaven meets earth
and time merges with mind
will new life begin
from a speck of dust
and one cataclysmic explosion
repeated.
