You have the opportunity to be the best person you can.
But vanity may sweep happiness right out of your hand
Appearances may captivate society today
But its taking all the humility away
Given the option, the option to quit, would you measure the risk and take advantage of it?
What do you get when you play to sweat?
What do you earn with the muscles you burn?
You don't have to struggle with the strength that you earn.
You use it or lose it, don’t you want to stay firm?
You could count your good fortune and stop while ahead.
But you brave the foolishness to get stronger instead,
Groaning and moaning as you lift a bed over your head.
Decisions, decisions, oh what do you do?
When the mattress’s might is much mightier than you.
You could relax those big 'guns', ease up on the buns,
Take a deep breath and admit that you're done.
Or you could plow gallantly onward, a gallant fool.
Replacing smarts with strength to prove that you rule.
Given the option, the option to quit, would you measure the risk and take advantage of it?
What about vanity? What does it mean?
You pose for the mirror and think you're pristine.
Yet when you do this, six times a day,
Your beauty is taken, in the wrong way.
Are you all about looks? How many heads you can turn?
Or are your complexities so complex nobody can discern?
You're like that guy lifting beds to the sky,
Throwing logic to the wind for that natural high.
What if one morning you woke up to find.
Some words like this, threaded into your mind?
Would you ask your lovely self, what could it all mean?
Or would you go on living a superficial routine?
Is strength beyond strength really all that you need?
Can you still be tough without a hungry ego to feed?
Is beauty and grace shown on more than your face?
Can you still be attractive with humility in place?
We all have our weaknesses and our maladaptive routines,
but given the option, the option to quit, would you measure the risk and take advantage of it?
The answers are in you.
All you need to do...
Is to think just a bit.
