Mind Mutations

She smiles at me with a grin full of titanium
Her eyes burn as sapphires
Hard gems dipped in hydrochloric acid
melting at the corneas

She cackles in delight
as I, the fat boy, grow ever more plump
muddied saliva drips cruelly through the bars of my cage
and I faint into the midnight moon.
I gently rise from out of the mid-day sun
golden dew lightly precipitates from my bed of clouds
as I, the delicate girl, morph into a bird ever more beautiful
He hums a gentle hymn

solidifying crystals of rain pour from his heart
soft to the touch like velvet foam
His eyes soak with the love of purified water
He frowns at me with a countenance of concentration

My mind and its bifurcated realities
