I am a dog so sweet and warm

I bark to say hello
When I want your attention
my wagging tale I show

If I growl I may be angry
or I may just want to play
If I chew gently on your hand
its because that is my way

Of showing that I love you
with all my doggie soul
I dream of chasing cats
take care of me as I grow old

I have seven years to your one
I age with grace and style
I'm chasing the birds in my head
as you pet me all the while

But mind my doggie doo
It's what I like to do
If you are not careful
I'll do it on your shoe

It's just the way I am
Best friend to man
I need frequent walks
I'll try to get your attention
any way that I can
