Sadness

Sadness,
is meant to utterly absorb

Pleasure
Peace,
Joy.

Within, there’s love
But the beauty is marred by

Deep blues
Alone
Or shared

There’s a place within all
For melancholy

Only there to be explored
as reason, ignored.

This Planet Earth

A fish in a sea of ash and salt
still swims, it's not his fault.
A bird in a sky of smog and dust
still flies because he must.
In the ground of dirt and sediment lives a mole
If it becomes polluted she must find another hole
Babies crying, business men flying, planes touching down
We are a stressed, the world's in such a mess, our voice drowned out in sound
Yet, we as humans have a choice
We can object; we have a voice
Water, noise and air pollution
All bad. But what's the solution?
Avoid overusing mechanical toys
Don't litter. Make less noise
We must fight for their (and our) right to live
A fighting chance. We must give.
Overpopulation of our fragile earth
Can it handle one more birth?
Or another million?
We now number nearly 7 billion
Instead of creating another baby
Perhaps adopting and just maybe
Our Earth would become a nicer home
Remember, we humans are not alone.

The Iron-side Chimera

Seventy-seven eyes
One gapping belly
Eighteen legs
and a skull full of jelly

Scales of Iron
Jaws of steel
Twenty-two ears
and a tongue like an eel

A torso of timber
Claws like a crab
Neck of a sea-horse
A rear of brass slab

Electric spinal chord
Acidic tears
Sad that he was made this way
Alone for all these years

Putrid Parsley

Parsley is as parsley does
Parsley IS a disgusting fuzz
It is you I will commiserate
If you find parsley on on your dinner plate
Few eat it. It's mainly just for looks
I hate it. I never use it when I cook
But that's just me. You might like the taste
Parsley presents its bitter face
It may leave you with fresh breath
But I wouldn't eat some to save me from my death
Yuch! Euw. Sick!
What a horrid little green stick!
I'd rather it a head of Garlic than be caught eating this Petroselinum crispum herb
If I could, I would, I'd rip out all the parsley from the earth and kick it to the curb
Okay, maybe I'm being a tad bit melodramatic
but I ate it once and it left me rheumatic
And that's no fun my friend
Rheumatism can kill you in the end
That's why at all costs I avoid eating this gidgey garnish
I hope that this poem has left parsley's name tarnished
If it has, then I have succeeded
Mark my words. I will never again eat it.
YEWCH!

I

I
say why
start to cry?
as tears pour from eyes
because its the time for me
time for me to die
This must be my
my final sigh
Why say

I
.?

scripture from a bird

I am a sparrow flying free
High in the sky is exactly where I want to be
With my wings spread open wide
and the clouds by my side
I soar like an eagle; a bird filled with pride
In this kingdom come, my will be done
I am the holy ghost
I am good. but I'm not better than most
my spirit runs deep; I am faith
please put me in my rightful place
beside the phoenix alight in flames
and the sphinx who plays her games
My song is the nectar of the bees
bringing even kings to their knees
Now I know exactly what I am
a bird with the word and the master plan
I am dividing the heavens for you
Some will let you in; Others will eschew
Your place among us is not set in stone
To be welcomed in one must first be left alone
Meditate on your life with an eye to the sky
there you will see me soaring high
beyond the tree tops and mountain peaks
I am the ultimate seeker. I am he who seeks
and I am waiting for you to join me
in soaring high and gliding happily.
